The Khao Sok National Park

Tropical forests, emerald-colored waters, caves and waterfalls, majestic limestone cliffs, the fantastic Chiaw Lan lake with its exotic islands, the wildlife jungle… this is Khao Sok National Park, located in Surat Thani province in Thailand. Its land area is 739 km² which represents the largest area of virgin forest exists in Southern of the country.

They are different kinds of animals: birds, reptiles, insects and wild mammals among which include Malayan Tapir, Asian Elephant, Tiger, Sambar Deer, Bear, Guar, Banteng, Serow, Wild Boar, Pig Tailed Macaque, Langur, White handed Gibbon, Squirrel, Muntjak and Mouse Deer.

On the flora of the park highlights the fact that it is one of the few places in the world where, in determinades seasons of year, grows and flourishes the Rafflesia flower, known as the largest flower known.
